AZ DAV Teams with VFW, The Legion, & UAV to fight for Claim Shark bill revision

​SB1803, a bi-partisan bill sponsored by Sen. Gowan and Sen, Sears seeks to limit the ability of “Claim Sharks” to prey on Disabled Veterans. A delegation of the state leadership from DAV, VFA, UAV, and The Legion jointly discussed the need for revision to require VA accreditation for working with Veterans on claims or appeals to the VA. The current form of the bill allows non-accredited individuals and  organizations to continue to operate under loose, essentially unmonitored conditions. Requiring  VA accreditation protects Veterans by requiring education, examination, continuing education, reaccreditation exams, and following a fee schedule approved by the VA. Without the accreditation requirement, we are opposed to the bill.
