Accredited VA Claims Assistance at No Cost
Navigating VA benefits can feel overwhelming, especially if you are filing for the first time, asking for a rating increase, responding to a denial, or trying to understand whether the PACT Act applies to your service.
DAV Chapter 4 Tucson provides free, in-person support for veterans and families in the Tucson area. Our Chapter Service Officers can help you understand your options, identify documents you may need, and assist with the next steps in your claim.
What Our Tucson Benefits Advocates Can Help With
Initial VA Disability Claims
Filing your first VA disability claim? We can help you understand what information may be needed, how to organize your paperwork, and how to start the process.
VA Disability Rating Increases
If your service-connected condition has worsened, or you believe your current rating does not reflect your situation, a Chapter Service Officer can help you understand possible next steps.
Denied Claims and Appeals
A denial is not always the end of the process. Bring your VA decision letter, and we can review it with you, explain what it means in plain language, and help you understand your appeal or supplemental claim options.
PACT Act and Toxic Exposure Claims
If you were exposed to burn pits, Agent Orange, Gulf War hazards, or other toxic exposures during service, you may have questions about the PACT Act or presumptive conditions. We can help you understand whether a toxic exposure-related claim may apply to your situation.
C&P Exam Preparation
A Compensation and Pension exam can be an important part of the VA claims process. We can help you understand what the exam is for, what to expect, and how to be clear and prepared when discussing your condition.
DIC and Survivor Benefits
Spouses, surviving spouses, and families may also qualify for certain VA benefits. We can help you understand Dependency and Indemnity Compensation, survivor benefits, and where to begin.
